The most famous attraction in the area is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a Tony award winning regional theatre company known for its quality and creativity. The theatres are only a short two block walk from Coolidge House.
Ashland is lucky to have a vital and lively downtown where shopping at the boutiques (be sure to check out FlowerTyme) and many art galleries will fill the time between breakfast and a matinee.
There are so many excellent restaurants in town it will be hard to choose your favorite after sampling Thai, Japanese, Northwest Fresh, Latin Asian Fusion, French cuisine, and a Wine Bar just to name a few.
You can hike in Lithia Park, or in the surounding foothills, or even on the nearby Pacific Coast Trail.
Noah's rafting can take you down the Klamath River where you can experience class 4 rapids or a lazy float down the Rogue River.
Crater Lake is only a couple of hours away and is a fun day trip from Ashland. Mount Ashland Ski area is just south of town for winter recreation or for picknicing in the summer months.
There are numerous wineries for wine tasting. Southern Oregon has become well known for its quality wine.
Nearby historic Jacksonville, just a beautiful 40 minute drive,is known for its old western downtown and The Britt Festival.
